Uncontested Divorce Procedure

The documents I prepare are not the cookie-cutter products available from online services. I prepare them personally and ensure that you will not be stranded with problems after the divorce. My aim is to make sure you obtain a divorce quickly, inexpensively and with the least stress.

  • After you submit the brief 5-question intake form, I will send you a free Settlement Agreement by the Parties.

  • When I receive that agreement back from you, I will prepare all the necessary documents within 24 hours, which will then need to be signed and notarized by both parties.

  • I’ll e-file your documents and follow your case through to the end, when you will be served with the Final Judgment and Decree of Divorce.

  • We will provide a quote if your divorce involves complex issues, 401(k) transfers, division of defined benefit pensions, military pensions or other special terms.

Fees and court costs

 

Note that actual fees may vary depending on your specific case. In all cases there will be no court appearance until further notice. Typically the divorce is granted in 45 days, including the 31-day statutory waiting period after filing. We do our best to obtain a divorce as fast as possible. Same-day turn-around time for final documents and all electronic filings.

  • simple uncontested divorce (no minor children)

    Simple Uncontested Divorce without minor children: $495 + $275 (E-filing fee) for ALL Georgia counties. No court appearance.

    TOTAL FEES AND COURT COSTS: $770.

  • simple uncontested divorce (with minor children)

    Simple Divorce with minor children: $995 ++ $275 (e-Filing fee) if one or both parents resides in Cobb County. Call for uncontested divorces where both parents reside in a GA county other than Cobb County.

    TOTAL FEES AND COURT COSTS: $1,270.
